DISCUSS REVIEW
Almost a year ago now I found myself reviewing what was certainly one of the best looking computer cases of 2005. In fact, even today it is still one of the best looking cases out there. The case in question is of course the Gigabyte 3D Aurora, which just happened to be the company’s first real computer case. The 3D Aurora really just came out of nowhere and with it Gigabyte also launched an impressive little water-cooling kit called the 3D Galaxy. Today our review sample of the 3D Aurora case is still being used, as it found a home with “5thofNovember” our keen games reviewer. The case is used on a daily basis to accommodate his gaming system.

Gigabyte has now finally released a successor to the original 3D Aurora, called the 3D Aurora 570 and personally I love the new design enhancements. The 3D Aurora 570 is a much more aggressive looking case, yet still features a number of the design elements that made the original so elegant. Where the original case featured more of a stream-line design, this latest revision looks somewhat sharper. The alterations are primarily cosmetic though, as it is quite obvious that the 3D Aurora 570 is still based on the original design.

In fact, other than a few slight changes to the appearance, the cases are pretty much identical. Basically, Gigabyte have just improved the image of the 3D Aurora, giving it a fresh new look. The 3D Aurora 570 still does not offer BTX support and it still supports the same amount of devices. There are still two 120mm fans included in the rear of the case with a single 120mm fan at the front. The case is also designed to support Gigabyte’s own water-cooling kits with pre-modified dual tube outlets. The case is also still available in either black or silver and features a complete aluminum design.
